TEAM IDENTITY
Our teams name might be short but it hides a rather strong meaning behind its two compounds, vel-koi. Vel is for velocity, a key component of our teams identity. Our engineers work hours on end, on trial and error just to make sure that the f1 car prepared for the world finals aligns with all regulations but also all expectations for a car that runs faster than any other. However a fast car would mean nothing without a team purpose. This is where Koi for koinonia (κοινωνία=community) comes to showcase our teams need for connection with all communities surrounding it. From young engineers dreaming of entering the F1in Schools competition, to local sponsors, but also teams from all over the world, in velkoi we care about sharing knowledge and creating a true identity that is also eco friendly and efficient. For Velkoi, community and speed add up to a complete set of characteristics true to its supporters.
After breaking down our name and exploring each aspect of our teams identity it is now time to explore the colours of our teams logo that are also dominant in portfolio designs, the cars’ colouring and our team uniform. Teal is a bright unique colour, pleasant to the viewers eyes that can also complete our teams identity. Teal is a combination of two other colours: green and blue. Each colour aligns with an aspect of our identity and priorities. Green symbolises our connection to nature but also our dedication to sustainability and recycling. Blue on the other hand is the colour that keeps us connected to our roots. Velkoi is a team from Greece the country with beautiful seas. Blue is our way of honouring the blue of our seas and staying authentic!
